How to Use Ford Remote Start

Ford Remote Start Key Fob

Is it a hot summer day? Or is it snowing out? The last thing you want to do is get inside a scorching hot or freezing car. This is where the Ford remote start comes in handy! With this system, you can turn on the ignition and have the cabin adjusted to your preferred settings, like temperature and memory seat position. You can find this feature on newer Ford models. Find out how to use the Ford remote start with your key fob transmitter below!

Ford Remote Start How-Tos

With this system, you can remote start and turn off your car easily. Streamline your Kane and DuBois drives when you follow these Ford remote start instructions:

Starting Your Ford Vehicle

You can locate the starting process on the label on your transmitter. We’ve listed the steps here as well:

  1. Press the lock button on the key fob to lock all the doors. You can be as far as 325 feet away from your car.
  2. Press the remote start button twice.
  3. The exterior lamps will flash twice, and then your car will start. Your key fob may have LED lights that turn green, signaling that your car has successfully started. If it doesn’t start, it will flash red instead.
  4. If the system fails to start, the horn will sound unless quiet start is on.

Note: If your car has been remote-started with an integrated keyhead transmitter, you must switch the ignition on before driving your car. With an intelligent access transmitter, you must press the Start/Stop button on the instrument panel once while applying the brake pedal before driving your vehicle.

Turning the Vehicle Off

Did you remote start your vehicle but then decide you won’t get in your car anytime soon? You can turn off your car by pressing the button once. You may need to be closer to your car than when you’re remote starting because of the ground reflection and added noise from the running vehicle.

Ford Remote Start: Memory Feature

With the memory feature, you can use your intelligent access keyfob to recall the memory seat, mirror, and steering column positions. That way, once you step into your car, you can start driving and heading to your destination in Emporium as soon as possible!

Is Ford Remote Start Not Working for You?

Have you tried following the instructions on how to use Ford remote start but the system isn’t working? It may be because of one of these reasons:

  • Ignition is on
  • Triggered alarm
  • Disabled remote stop/start system
  • Open hood
  • Transmission is in park (P)
  • Low vehicle battery
  • “Service engine soon” light is illuminated
